Always more for less.
That’s Food Basics’ customer promise, and now you can see for yourself – the store at 125 Hope Street South held its grand opening yesterday (Aug 8).
Port Hope mayor, Bob Sanderson, was one of the first customers through the door, and he says it’s great to have an affordable grocery store within the municipality.
Food Basics is sponsoring the Port Hope Panthers for the 2019/2020 season and they presented a $1,000 cheque to the Northumberland Fare Share Foodbank.
John Manax is the vice president of operations at Food Basics, and he was on hand for the grand opening as well.
He says they love to be involved in small town Ontario, and he’s thrilled to be celebrating the new Port Hope location.
The store is open 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday to Friday and 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays.
