The Cobourg Marina and Victoria Park Campground Remain Closed due to COVID-19.
They’re looking to re-schedule the boat lift-in for early June pending provincial regulations.
The marina and campground are keeping in line with provincial restrictions for recreation and outdoor amenities, so the Town of Cobourg has announced that the opening of both will be delayed until at least May 29th, and that the boat launch will now be closed until further notice to ensure residents are not participating in banned recreational activities and Law enforcement will continue to patrol and provide assistance to the public.
Dean Hustwick, Director of Community Services for the Town of Cobourg says, “These closures will help ensure that there are fewer opportunities for residents and visitors to gather and risk spreading the virus. We will continue to monitor the situation closely and reassess the opening dates in the weeks ahead.”
The Town of Cobourg’s online reservation system for the 2020 Victoria Park Campground season also remains on hold and seasonal campers are not permitted to move in. Municipal staff will be contacting all those campers affected by the delay.
The Town of Cobourg is also working with the Cobourg Yacht Club to re-schedule the boat lift-in date for early June.
The Community Services Division staff continue to provide essential operations for the Town’s parks and the Waterfront District, including dredging services.
