NHH will be receiving $951,700 for the patient beds, which will help alleviate hospital capacity pressures and reduce wait times.
This includes six additional transitional care beds and four additional ICU beds.
The Ontario government is providing a total of $116.5 million to create up to 766 more beds at 32 hospitals and alternate health facilities across the province.
This investment will not only increase hospital capacity, but also reduce surgical backlogs and improve access to care.
