Ontario’s COVID-19 vaccination program will be back up and operating in all of its clinics today following a controversial holiday pause in some of them.
Critics say the province can’t afford to delay immunizations and should have kept the clinics running over Christmas.
But the Ministry of Health says COVID-19 has created staffing issues and that hospital sites asked to operate on slightly amended schedules.
That comes on the heels of the highest daily count to date in Ontario – 2,553 new COVID-19 cases are being reported today (Dec 29).
Ontario’s chief medical officer of health is expected to provide an update on the pandemic this afternoon.
