Cobourg Police are looking for public assistance in identifying a suspect linked to multiple thefts from vehicles in Cobourg. On Sunday, November 7, 2021, police responded to a call from a resident who reported their car window was smashed and a wallet stolen from the vehicle on Munson Street.
Officers attended the scene and asked people in the neighbourhood if they would share dash cam and home video footage. Police received a total of six reports of theft from vehicles around Cobourg that occurred over the weekends
of October 22 to 24 and November 5 to 8.
In each case, a window was smashed and used to gain entry. With personal property being taken. In addition, police have received numerous reports of theft from unlocked vehicles over the same time period.
Here is a list of dates and locations were the incidents have been reported:
• October 22 – Westwood Crescent
• October 23 – Fairbanks Road
• October 24 – Sutherland Crescent
• November 5 – Fraser Crescent
• November 6 – Daintry Crescent
• November 7 – Munson Crescent
The Cobourg Police have provided an image and surveillance video footage of the suspect
believed to be linked to several of the incidents.
Anyone that can identify the person in the photos or surveillance footage, or anyone with video surveillance
or dashcam the areas of the incidents is asked to contact the Criminal Investigation Branch Detective Sgt.
