Student accommodation considerations and rising enrollment prompted the Kawartha Pine Ridge District School Board to make significant changes affecting four schools in the region.
Ganaraska Trail Public School will be a Junior Kindergarten to Grade 5 dual track French Immersion school and Dr. M.S. Hawkins Senior Public School a Grade 6 to 8 dual track French Immersion school.
Newcastle School will be a Junior Kindergarten to Grade 5 dual track French Immersion school next year.
The Pines Senior Public School will be a Grade 6 to 8 dual track French Immersion school.
The board says the schools are running out of space and can’t accommodate more portables.
