Cobourg Police have arrested a man after finding $38,000 worth of good they say were stolen from vehicles.
Police say they received a phone call from someone who said they had used tracking software to track their stolen laptop to a residence in Cobourg.
Police say they eventually searched the vehicle finding dozens of stolen property items, including 13 laptops/tablets, numerous government-issued identification cards, cheques, and banking and tax documents not belonging to the owner of the vehicle. The value associated with the property recovered exceeds $38,000.
According to police, this was all from a string of “Smash-and-Grab” thefts from vehicles at several golf
courses and thefts from mailboxes in the Durham and York Regions.
