First the police, now by-law officers will be wearing body worn cameras while on patrol in Cobourg.
Municipal Law Enforcement Officers will be wearing cameras as of the week of Sept 26, with some training occurring this week.
Back in August, Council approved robust and comprehensive policies for body-worn camera use, developed with privacy in mind.
The cameras will be used to capture specific interactions with the public, and aren’t intended for full shift recordings.
For more details visit the Body-Worn Camera page on the municipal website, www.cobourg.ca/BWC.
