The Brighton Downtown Business Improvement Association (DBIA) has organized a “Light Up in the Park” in Brighton to precede the Santa Claus parade on November 18th.
“It is so nice to be back to in-person parade,” said Gina Boyd – a Volunteer with the DBIA. “The main street will be closed for the parade and we will have all the activities starting at 6:00 pm in Memorial Park, right before the Santa Claus parade.”
The Smithfield Public School will also be in Memorial Park, serving hot chocolate and giving out glow sticks and candy canes.
Mayor Brian Ostrander will be officially opening up the “Light Up in the Park” event at 6:30 pm.
The Happy Harmony group will be performing carols and 6 local businesses have decorated trees that will be on display on the amphitheatre stage.
“6 businesses have decorated trees, 3 are real and 3 are artificial but they all have their own theme and they will be up for people to enjoy at the event,” added Boyd.
Get ready to enjoy the Santa Claus parade by first attending this year’s “Light Up in the Park” event, starting at 6:00 pm in Memorial Park. Don’t forget to get your hot chocolate, candy canes and glow sticks and help light up the way for parade along the route.
