Michael Robinson has been appointed as the area’s Fire Chief, after 20-plus years of working with the Township in volunteer roles and as a full-time employee.
For the last five years Robinson has worked as a full-time employee in the position of Fire Protection Special / Training Officer, District Chief and most recently he provided support to the Township as the Interim / Acting Fire Chief.
“Mike has extensive and progressive experience in the fire sector in Ontario, the County of Northumberland and of course, here in the Township. As a life-long resident of the Township and with his dedication and commitment to our residents and community, as well as to the fire profession as a whole, we are proud to call him one of our own and are thrilled to make this announcement today.” – Mayor Scott Jibb
“With the very sound and real partnerships he has built and developed in the Township and with our colleagues across the County, Mike’s experience will help us as we implement the Master Fire Plan to keep us ready to serve the residents of our community now, but also to prepare our Fire Department as we move forward for the challenges ahead.” – Arthur Anderson, CAO
