Concern for the wellbeing of our environment continues to grow as the effects of the climate crisis become more hazardous. The good news: there’s a lot of interest in maintaining oceans as one way to protect the environment.
This World Oceans Day, Oceana Canada is putting out a call to action to pressure the government for more action on overfishing, habitat loss, pollution and marine species extinction.
Whether it be for recreation, seafood or income, Oceana Canada reports in their latest market research poll that seventy-one per cent of Canadians say they feel they have some connection to the oceans.
The theme this year is “Tides Are Changing” which aims to recognize the topical issues affecting the quality of oceans. June 8th marks World Ocean Day, and you can learn more about Oceana Canada initiatives at Make Waves – Oceana Canada
