Temperatures this week are predicted to be in the high 20’s with humidex values into the forties.
Heat can cause conditions like dehydration, heat cramps, heat exhaustion, and heat stroke which can be very dangerous, especially to the unhoused, elderly and those with disabilities or chronic diseases as well as expectant mothers, children and infants.
The town of Cobourg has opened temporary Cooling Centres at Victoria Hall, the Cobourg Police Station, the Library and the Cobourg Community Centre.
