The downtown area of Cobourg is set to witness a vibrant revival as the Cobourg Downtown Business Improvement Association (DBIA) proudly announces the official grand openings and re-opening of seven diverse businesses. Residents eagerly awaited the festivities, which promise to bring renewed energy and excitement to the heart of the community.
The celebration kicked-off on Thursday, July 6th, as locals and visitors gather to commemorate the first of 6 grand openings beginning with Feel Good Town Catering. Located at 255 Division St., Feel Good Town Catering is poised to impress with its top-notch catering services and mouthwatering take-out options. The owner, Brad Murphy, expressed his enthusiasm for the grand opening, and also what inspired the name.
Joining the grand reopening celebrations is Cobourg’s Buy and Sell, located at 41 King St. W. The popular establishment is eager to welcome back the community with renewed vigor and an expanded selection of goods. Viva le Glitz & Co. Secret Closet, located at 87 King St. W., will provide fashion enthusiasts with an array of stunning, previously loved clothing and accessories.
The festivities then moved down the street to 249 Division St., where BonBon Vintage Collective awaited with a delightful take on vintage fashion. From there, the celebrations continued at 32 King St. W., where The Old Hello, a charming and distinctive resto-café is located. We sat down with owner of The Old Hello, Jordan McKinnon, to discuss the opening.
The Old Hello was formerly called Hello Cobourg Café. With an opportunity to build a new face for the storefront, McKinnon says they’ll honour the past, and bringing the customers something new.
The celebrations continued at Modella, situated at 90 King St. W., offering trendy women’s fashions to suit any lifestyle. Finally, the festivities concluded at 91 ½ King St. W., with the much-anticipated opening of Tezca, a captivating resto-bar specializing in tantalizing tacos and tequila.
As part of the celebrations, local officials and DBIA board members participated in official ribbon-cutting ceremonies at each location. Attendees had the opportunity to capture memorable moments with their cameras, at an event that was an exciting highlight in the town’s calendar.
The Cobourg Downtown Business Improvement Association encourages residents and visitors to join them in welcoming these new businesses and experience the diverse range of offerings they bring to Downtown Cobourg.
