In August, Cobourg Police officers responded to a Cobourg motel after receiving reports of an unattended child.
They found a young child alone in the motel room, and after medical evaluation, Highland Shores Children’s Aid took custody of the child.
An investigation has since led to a warrant for the father’s arrest.
On Monday, September 18th, the father of the child was arrested, charged with Abandoning the Child, and released on conditions, with a court date set for October.
