The generous support from the Rotary Club of Port Hope will cover transit costs for ROLLS transit services in December.
ROLLS Transit provides specialized transit services to residents who are unable to use regular public transit, including residents living with a disability.
We spoke with rider Eileen who uses the service to travel to medical appointments on a regular basis.
She says the service helps her with this and more.
Residents already enrolled as ROLLS members get to ride without any fees, as announced
Eileen says she pays roughly 30 dollars a month, and told us it’s worthwhile at the price tag but she’ll enjoy the money she’ll save.
Eileen concluded her chat by saying she’s grateful to ride with ROLLS’ team.
Riders like Eileen will be riding for free the entire month of December.
The club also sponsored Christmas light tours. Reservations for a one-hour bus tours is open to ROLLS members and residents of Empire Crossing, Roseglen Village, Hope Street Terrace, Extendicare and Regency Park.
Tours run 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. from Dec. 18 to 22.
For details and to book a spot, contact the transit coordinator at 905-885-9891.
