A 28-year-old Cobourg woman is facing charges following an internal theft investigation at a north-end business.
On Wednesday, September 25, 2024, at approximately 2:10 p.m., the Cobourg Police Service responded to a report from the business’s management, who had completed an internal investigation and found evidence of an employee allegedly involved in theft and fraud.
Officers attended the scene, reviewed the evidence provided by the management, and arrested the 28-year-old woman. She has been charged with theft under $5,000 and fraud under $5,000. The accused was subsequently released on an undertaking with a scheduled court date in November.
The Cobourg Police Service continues to encourage businesses to be vigilant and report any suspected fraudulent activities to ensure community safety and accountability.
