Cobourg’s cherished Christmas Magic festival returns on Friday, November 22, lighting up the holiday season with dazzling displays and new features.
This free event, which runs nightly until January 5, transforms Victoria Park and Rotary Harbourfront Park into a winter wonderland with over 200,000 lights.
This year, the Town of Cobourg is introducing a new outdoor Holiday Market in Rotary Harbourfront Park, offering artisanal crafts, unique gifts, and seasonal treats. Horse and wagon rides and live music by Queen tribute band Scaramouche add even more festive charm.
The kickoff begins at 6 p.m. with a welcome ceremony at Victoria Hall, where Mayor Lucas Cleveland will lead the lighting countdown. Residents can join a lighted walk down Second Street to the park for the festivities. Food bank donations are encouraged, with participants receiving their own light to carry.
Road closures will be in place on King Street from Third to Division Street from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Parking is available on Albert and Second streets.
Christmas Magic, a Cobourg tradition since the early 90s, is made possible by community volunteers and town departments.
