An investigation is underway after a home invasion and robbery in Alnwick/Haldimand, say Northumberland OPP.
On the morning of Friday, Dec. 13, 2024, police issued a release confirming that officers are investigating after police received a dropped 911 call shortly before 3:50 a.m. from a residence on Dudley Road.
“Further information was gathered that a number of individuals had entered the property and assaulted the complainant,” said police.
Emergency crews reportedly transported one victim to hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.
According to OPP – who also took to social media Friday morning, advising the public of an increased police presence in the area – two men sought in connection to the incident were gone before police arrived in the early morning hours.
Among the items taken was some jewelry, reported police.
Forensic identification services (IDENT) and the Northumberland OPP crime unit were also called in to help with the investigation.
Investigators are calling on anyone with information or exterior home surveillance/door cameras, or anyone or who was in a vehicle in the area with in-car video and/or who may have seen suspicious activity to contact police.
