Municipal offices in Brighton, Cobourg, and Port Hope will close for the holidays from December 24 at noon until January 2, 2025. While administrative services pause, essential services and emergency contacts remain available throughout the holiday season.
Brighton:
The Municipality of Brighton advises that bag tags can be purchased online or at listed locations. Public Works and Environmental Services teams are on-call for emergencies, with contacts available on the municipal website.
Cobourg:
Victoria Hall, Public Works, and the Cobourg Community Centre will close at various times, with regular hours resuming January 2. Cobourg Transit operates reduced hours on December 24 and 31, with no service on Christmas Day or New Year’s Day.
Port Hope:
Recreation facilities, including the Jack Burger Sports Complex and Town Park Recreation Centre, have adjusted holiday hours. The Hope Transfer Station and Port Hope Public Library branches also observe closures, with regular schedules resuming early January.
Snow removal, fire, and police services in all three municipalities remain uninterrupted.
Residents are encouraged to check local websites for full schedules and contact details.
Municipal leaders wish everyone a safe and happy holiday season.
