If you’re travelling in the County Road 45 area, reconstruction work on the Baltimore Creek retaining wall has been extended into early January.
Northumberland County says as a result, road access will continue to be reduced to a single lane to accommodate the work. Traffic signals are in place.
Work on the two-year project started earlier this year. In early November, it was anticipated work would continue for another four weeks or so, with single-lane closures on County Road 45 between Limekiln Trail and Harwood Road.
The two-year rehabilitation project, north of Harwood Road in Baltimore, is described as a critical infrastructure project to reinforce the creek embankment to prevent erosion. The project also includes tree replacement to support environmental resilience, say county staff.
The county is thanking residents for their patience.
