ABC Life Literacy Canada is helping Ontarians improve their digital skills with free resources through its ABC Connect for Learning program.
As technology becomes increasingly integral to daily life, digital literacy is now a necessity, empowering Canadians to access essential services, find employment, and navigate the online world safely.
The program offers a wide range of topics, including basic computer skills, online safety, assistive technologies, and job-hunting platforms. Learners can access downloadable workbooks, video lessons, and interactive courses via the ABC Skills Hub, catering to all experience levels.
“Strong digital literacy skills are no longer optional but essential,” said Alison Howard, Executive Director at ABC Life Literacy Canada. “Our resources empower Canadians to confidently and safely navigate the tech-driven world, unlocking new opportunities.”
ABC Connect for Learning is supported by the Government of Canada through the Digital Literacy Exchange Program. François-Philippe Champagne, Minister of Innovation, Science and Industry, said, “Digital literacy opens doors to opportunity and drives innovation. Our partnership with ABC Life Literacy ensures more Canadians can build essential skills.”
In addition to individual learning, the program offers tools for literacy practitioners, lesson plans, and workshops that community organizations can host to enhance digital literacy across Ontario.
