The Municipality of Port Hope is seeking applications for the role of Youth Councillor, offering young residents a chance to engage directly with local government and represent their peers.
Open to youth aged 13 to 17 who reside in Port Hope, the Youth Councillor will attend monthly Council meetings, advise on issues affecting young people, and participate in community events. The role aims to ensure that young voices are heard and play a part in shaping decisions that impact the community.
Candidates should be enthusiastic, community-focused, and willing to commit to regular meetings and initiatives. The successful applicant will receive a $400 honorarium for their term.
To apply, submit a one-page essay describing your interest in the role, relevant skills, school activities, and two references (teachers or employment references are acceptable).
Applications must be submitted through the Municipality of Port Hope’s Careers Page by March 14, 2025.
