A single-vehicle crash has led to an impaired driving charge for a 58-year-old from the Township of Hamilton, say Northumberland OPP.
On Monday, shortly after 11:30 p.m., OPP said a citizen reported the crash in the Dale Road and Sylvan Glen Port Hope area.
EMS also responded to the incident, where a passenger vehicle reportedly collided with a ditch and the driver sustained minor injuries.
Police said after speaking with the driver, a breath sample demand was made, and with the result, the accused was taken into custody and transported to a local detachment for further tests.
The accused was charged with operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus.)
This charge has not been proven in court.
In addition to a future court date, the accused also had their licence suspended for 90 days and the vehicle was impounded for seven days.
