A Peterborough man is facing drug trafficking charges after police seized large amounts of fentanyl and cocaine during a multi-jurisdictional investigation that included law enforcement in Northumberland County.
On January 28, 2025, the OPP Organized Crime Enforcement Bureau (OCEB) and Peterborough Police Service (PPS) executed five search warrants across Peterborough, Durham, and York Regions. The investigation, which began in the summer of 2024, focused on drug trafficking throughout Peterborough and surrounding communities.
During the search, officers seized 1.5 kilograms of suspected fentanyl, 1.6 kilograms of cocaine, 30 oxycodone pills, over $5,000 in cash, eight cell phones, digital scales, and a laptop.
Tirath Odea, 26, of Peterborough, was arrested and charged with six drug-related offences, including possession for the purpose of trafficking fentanyl and cocaine. Odea was remanded into custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Peterborough on February 10.
