YMCA Northumberland hosted its annual “Shine Your Light” Staff and Volunteer Appreciation Celebration on Feb. 8 at the Keeler Centre in Colborne, recognizing the dedication and contributions of its team.
“Our success is rooted in the incredible dedication and passion of our staff and volunteers,” said Eunice Kirkpatrick, President and CEO of YMCA Northumberland. “Their energy, compassion, and tireless efforts make a profound impact on our community.”
The event featured a buffet dinner, recognition speeches, and special awards. Madelyn Schultz received the Michael Moore Memorial Award, while Sarah Bower earned the Michael Moore Scholarship Award for her studies in Early Childhood Education. The J. Gordon Dunlop Volunteer Award was presented to Judy Brown and the Arriba Team, recognizing their long-standing commitment.
A highlight of the evening was a surprise presentation of the King Charles III Coronation Medal to Lynda Kay, acknowledging her outstanding community service.
YMCA Northumberland also honoured staff and volunteers for their years of service, celebrating milestones ranging from five to twenty years. The organization expressed deep appreciation for those who help fulfill its mission of fostering community growth.
