VOTING BY MAIL
Residents can apply online to vote by mail – and track the status of their applications this way, according to Elections Ontario.
However, Elections Ontario has to receive completed voting kits by 6 p.m. on Election Day to be counted. More information is accessible online.
The deadline to apply to vote by mail is 6 p.m. (eastern time) Friday, Feb. 21.
Of note: Those who choose this option will be unable to choose an alternative method after applications have been reviewed and approved, according to Elections Ontario.
Following approvals, people will get a voting kit with a ballot in the mail – it can take up to four days for applications to be processed. A prepaid envelope is provided to return kits or people can drop it off at their local election office.
According to the Elections Ontario website, more than 760 voting kits had already been mailed out in this region as of Feb. 14.
Voter information cards are being mailed out starting this week through to Saturday, Feb. 22.
