Elections Ontario is reminding residents to watch for their voter information cards this week ahead of the Feb. 27 provincial election.
The cards provide details on when and where to vote. Voters should bring the card and one piece of accepted ID showing their name to the polling station.
Social media posts recently sparked confusion, suggesting some registered voters wouldn’t receive a card, leading to claims of voter suppression linked to Premier Doug Ford. Elections Ontario confirmed these claims are false, clarifying that the pamphlet behind the confusion is from their office and not connected to Ford or his campaign.
“If you have registered to vote in a previous provincial election, you don’t need to re-register and will receive your voter information card by mail,” Elections Ontario stated on X, formerly Twitter. Cards will arrive between Feb. 17 and 22.
Voters who don’t receive a card can still vote by bringing one piece of accepted ID showing their name and current home address.
