Northumberland Hills Hospital is now accepting applications for its annual Health Professions Scholarship awards.
Two awards of $1,500 each are available this year to students from west Northumberland pursuing careers in health care.
The program, launched in 2003 by NHH’s volunteer Board of Directors, aims to provide financial assistance to local students studying in health-related fields.
Applicants are evaluated based on academic achievements, extracurricular involvement, personal testimonials outlining their interest in health care, and written references. Candidates must also be enrolled or accepted in a full-time study program.
NHH says the scholarship encourages local students to consider returning to the community hospital when choosing an employer.
“The Health Professions Scholarship is part of our ongoing commitment to supporting the next generation of health-care professionals,” said an NHH spokesperson.
Applications are due by 4:00 p.m. on Friday, April 18, 2025. Recipients will be announced at a spring meeting of the NHH Board of Directors.
