Five Counties Children’s Centre is celebrating its 50th anniversary in style – and with a special deal for its annual Backyard Summer Social.
The popular fundraising event returns on Saturday, June 21, from 1 to 5 p.m. at the Centre’s outdoor space at 872 Dutton Rd. in Peterborough.
Director of Fund Development Lyn Giles tells us more.
The social offers an afternoon of fun, food, and live entertainment. Guests can enjoy bites from La Mesita, Hanoi House, and sweet treats from Central Smith and the Kawartha Butter Tart Factory. Music from Josh and Dan Fewings, a live auction, axe throwing with the Peterborough Axe Club, and Critter Visits petting zoo are among the highlights.
According to Giles it’s an adult only event that’ll make you feel like a kid again.
Funds raised from the Backyard Summer Social will support Five Counties’ Building Abilities For Life Campaign, which helps reduce long waits for high-demand services like speech and occupational therapy.
Giles tells us that in celebration of Five Counties 50th anniversary, they’ve got a great deal for attendees.
As a thank-you to the community for supporting children’s therapy services, the Centre is offering discounted tickets for $50 each – down from the usual $125 price.
Tickets are available online or by calling 1-888-779-9916, ext. 300.
