A Cobourg man has been charged following a collision between a vehicle and a train at the D’Arcy Street rail crossing early Thursday morning.
Cobourg police say they were called to the crossing at approximately 5:30 a.m. after receiving a report that a westbound train had struck a vehicle.
The vehicle’s lone occupant, a 46-year-old Cobourg man, sustained minor injuries and was taken to hospital.
Following an investigation, police charged the driver under the Highway Traffic Act for driving a motor vehicle with no permit and failing to stop at a railway crossing signal.
Police have not released further details about the circumstances leading to the collision.
