Presqu’ile Provincial Park in Brighton has reopened as of Wednesday, April 2 following this weekend’s ice storm.
“During the significant ice storm over the weekend, many trees and hydro lines were impacted throughout the park, causing dangerous situations for park users,” said park staff, who, alongside hydro teams, have been busy clearing the main roadways and restoring power at Presqu’ile.
“It was a truly a team effort,” added officials.
However, there is still lots of work to do, so park visitors are being asked to give crews space while they are tackling further cleanup.
For people venturing into the park, staff said residents should continue to use caution and be prepared for potentially blocked trails and areas within the park.
