Ontario’s top police leaders are set to evaluate the next wave of policing technology as the Pitch to the Chief (PTTC) competition returns on April 28, 2025, at the Venture13 Innovation and Entrepreneurship Centre in Cobourg.
Organized by the V13 Policetech Accelerator, a partnership between Nventure and the Cobourg Police Service, the competition invites early-stage companies to present innovative technologies designed to improve policing operations.
“Pitch to the Chief is an incredible opportunity for innovators to showcase solutions that could directly impact policing and community safety,” said Cobourg Police Chief Paul VandeGraaf, PTTC co-founder.
Six finalists, selected by a panel of deputy police chiefs, will have 10 minutes to pitch their ideas to Ontario police chiefs. The winning company will receive a prize package valued at up to $30,000, including a $5,000 cash award, $25,000 investment consideration from Nventure, office space at Venture13, and potential pilot project opportunities with police services.
“Through funding from the Ontario government, we have been able to expand this initiative to Ontario’s small and mid-sized services,” said Nventure CEO Wendy Curtis, also a PTTC co-founder.
Ontario Rural Affairs Minister Lisa Thompson highlighted the importance of the competition in addressing policing challenges in rural and remote areas.
The live event is open to the public.
