Registration is now open for the next free PACE Speakers Series talk, The Health Benefits of Spending Time in Nature, set for Thursday, April 24 at 5:30 p.m.
Presented virtually via Zoom, the event will feature Dr. Anuja Sharma, a Northumberland-based Internal Medicine specialist, and Leslie Abram, a local naturalist and board member of the Northumberland Land Trust. The pair will explore how connecting with nature in visual, auditory and physical ways can improve both physical and mental health.
Dr. Sharma brings almost three decades of experience in internal medicine and a strong interest in wellness. Together, she and Abram will share ways to make nature a meaningful part of everyday life, including local spaces to explore and strategies for making outdoor time more intentional.
The one-hour talk will include a 30-minute presentation followed by 20 minutes of live Q&A. Attendees can also submit questions in advance by emailing mbhargava@imcare.ca.
Since 2018, PACE Talks-short for Partners Advancing Communication and Education-have brought expert speakers to the community for engaging, practical health and wellness discussions.
Organizers recommend logging in five minutes early. Attendance is capped at 300 and pre-registration is required at www.pacetalks.com, where recordings of past sessions are also available.
