The Municipality of Port Hope has launched a new online platform, Engage Port Hope, designed to make it easier for residents to share feedback and participate in local decision-making.
The site replaces the previous My Port Hope platform, which had been in use since 2017. After a detailed review in 2024, staff identified several opportunities to improve the system-including better user experience, more advanced engagement tools, and stronger data analysis.
“We’re pleased to launch the Engage Port Hope platform-our new tool to support digital community engagement,” said Brian Gilmer, Director of Corporate Services. “This is a positive step in how we connect with residents and the broader community. I’d like to thank the Communications team for their hard work and commitment to this initiative.”
The new site includes several key features:
Social Maps – Interactive tools to collect feedback based on location.
Story Sharing – A space to post ideas, stories, and experiences that others can comment on or vote for.
Budget Engagement – An opportunity for residents to weigh in on municipal spending priorities during the budget cycle.
Ideation Boards – A virtual space for brainstorming and idea-sharing.
Municipal officials say the upgrade came at no additional cost, thanks to a switch in vendors. The platform reflects Port Hope’s ongoing commitment to inclusive, transparent, and meaningful engagement.
Residents are encouraged to visit engage.porthope.ca to explore the tools and share their thoughts.
