Police say they’ve seized more than $65,000 worth of drugs and firearms after warrants were executed earlier this week in Northumberland, Centre Hastings, North York and Kingston as part of a multi-jurisdictional drug-trafficking investigation.
In a release from Northumberland OPP issued Friday, April 25, 2025, police stated that OPP’s Peterborough/Northumberland and Centre Hastings community street crime units – in collaboration with the Kingston Police Service – launched their investigation following information received earlier this year.
As part of the operation, police said search warrants were executed on Wednesday, April 23, 2025, at four locations. With help from Kingston police’s drug unit and area services’ front-line members, four people were arrested, reported OPP.
Investigators allege they seized 1,404 grams of suspected cocaine, 129 grams of MDMA (ecstasy), 43 percocet pills, firearms and other drug-trafficking-related items.
“The approximate street value of the seized drugs is $65,300,” said police.
As a result of the investigation, police said a 33-year-old Kingston resident was charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking – cocaine, and possession of proceeds by crime under $5,000.
Further, police said a 51-year-old Marmora resident was charged with two counts of possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – cocaine, two counts of possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – MDMA, two counts of possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – opioid, two counts of possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime over $5,000, two counts of possessing cannabis for the purpose of selling, and two counts of unauthorized possession of a firearm.
A 36-year-old North York resident was also charged with trafficking a controlled substance – cocaine, and possession of a prohibited device, reported OPP.
Police said a 35-year-old Marmora resident was charged with two counts of possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – cocaine, two counts of possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – MDMA, two counts of possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – opioid, two counts of possessing cannabis for the purpose of selling, two counts of possession of proceeds of crime, and two counts of possession of a firearm.
None of the above charges have been proven in court.
Three of the accused were held for bail, reported OPP, on Friday. The accused from North York was released with conditions to attend court in Kingston at a later date, said police.
