Brighton Speedway drops the green flag on its 58th season this Saturday, May 3rd, with a full card of racing and a community food drive in support of the Brighton Fareshare Food Bank.
The Vanderlaan Building Products Northeast Late Model Alliance Lid Lifter will headline opening night, with $2,025 up for grabs in the Late Model season opener. Joining the race card are the Bainer’s OilGARD Anti Rust Canadian Modifieds, Brighton Automotive Thunder Stocks, and Bill’s Johns Mini Stocks.
Fans are encouraged to bring a non-perishable food item, sanitary products, or a cash donation to the Brighton Fareshare Food Bank. Donations at the gate earn a $5 discount on admission. Speedway staff hope to fill the Vanderlaan trailer with much-needed supplies.
Test and Tune gave drivers a chance to shake down their 2025 rides last week, and all signs point to an exciting season ahead.
This year’s schedule is packed with highlights. NASCAR legend Ken Schrader visits on May 17th, the Empire Super Sprints make their debut on May 31st, and Monster Truck Madness returns June 22nd. Fan favourites like the school bus races (July 19 and Oct. 4) and the Applefest Shootout in late September are also back.
Weekly racing continues every Saturday through October.
