Police say another individual is facing drug-trafficking charges after a search warrant was executed in Quinte West in connection to a $100,000 drug bust investigation reported earlier this week.
As previously reported, on Monday, May 12, 2025, OPP’s East Region community street crime unit, with help from the organized crime enforcement bureau, emergency response team, and canine unit, arrested and charged a 26-year-old man from Calgary, Alta., following a traffic stop in Belleville and a raid in Quinte West.
This alleged bust led to the seizure of more than $100,000 worth of drugs and a loaded handgun, as well as a slew of drug- and weapon-related charges.
On Thursday, May 15, 2025, as a result of the ongoing investigation, police said another search warrant was executed at a Dundas Street West apartment where a small quantity of suspected fentanyl was seized.
One person was arrested a short time later in downtown Trenton where officers seized more than 4.8 grams of suspected fentanyl, as well as a quantity of suspected heroin, reported OPP in their latest update.
As a result of the investigation, police said Katelynn Harpell, 29, of Quinte West, was charged with seven counts of possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking, and possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime over $5,000.
None of these charges have been proven in court.
Police said some of the charges related to the earlier drug seizure.
