Ownership is changing hands at Jack McGee Chevrolet-Cadillac Ltd.
The dealership, which has been in Peterborough for more than six decades, has been sold to Bill Campbell. Campbell currently owns Thomas Buick GMC in Cobourg.
The legacy of Jack McGee Chevrolet-Cadillac Ltd. stretches back to 1963, when Jack McGee started the business on Water Street. A couple of years later, McGee bought a property at the corner of Clonsilla Avenue and Goodfellow Road, which is where the business has run until this very day.
Rumours of a sale surfaced last summer, however President David McGee at the time confirmed in an interview with the Peterborough Examiner that those particular negotiations didn’t come to fruition.
Campbell released a statement to PTBOTODAY.ca regarding the purchase:
Since 1963, Jack McGee Chevrolet Cadillac has proudly served Peterborough with a commitment to quality and community. And now, a new chapter begins. We’re excited to announce new ownership — the same team behind Thomas Buick GMC in Cobourg and Curry Chevrolet in Haliburton — bringing a new attitude and a renewed drive to deliver exceptional service right here in Peterborough. Family-owned. Locally focused. But now, with a bigger reach.
