Port Hope will once again play host to a movie set as KG Movie Inc. rolls into town on Monday, June 9 to film scenes for its upcoming film Karate Ghost.
Filming will take place at two main locations: East Beach in the morning and the downtown core in the afternoon. While no road closures are expected, residents should plan for intermittent traffic and pedestrian stops lasting one to three minutes.
At East Beach, filming will occur between 7:30 a.m. and 10 a.m. along Mill Street South and Madison Street. Parking will be restricted in the overflow lot at 95 Mill St. S., parts of the fish cleaning station lot, and the dock area. East Beach Park will be closed to the public during filming hours.
Downtown filming will run from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. affecting Walton Street (Ontario Street to Lent Lane), Queen Street (up to the Port Hope Library), and Lent Lane. Parking restrictions and brief pedestrian control measures will be in place throughout the afternoon.
While Port Hope Transit will continue operating, minor delays are possible due to the short traffic stops.
The Municipality of Port Hope encourages residents and visitors to be patient and enjoy the excitement a film shoot brings to town.
Questions can be directed to location manager Chris Randell at 519-717-2379 or municipal film liaison Meg Ronson at 905-375-7607.
