An investigation into alleged drug-trafficking in the Quinte area has led to the arrest of several Whitby residents and the seizure of suspected cocaine, fentanyl, weapons and more than $10,000 in cash, say police.
In a release issued on Wednesday, June 25, 2025, OPP said their probe started earlier this year.
Yesterday – Tuesday, June 24 – police said the East Region community street crime unit, Belleville Police Service’s emergency response team and canine unit, along with members of OPP’s organized crime enforcement bureau, initiated a vehicle stop involving a car at the Hwy. 401 Division Street off-ramp in Kingston.
Investigators said one person was arrested, and more than 74 grams of suspected cocaine, a quantity of suspected fentanyl, more than $300, and items typically associated with drug-trafficking were allegedly seized.
Not long after, police said the street crime unit, with help from the East Region’s tactics and rescue unit and officers from Quinte West and Prince Edward County detachments, executed a search warrant at a Littlebeck Crescent Whitby residence and took two people into custody at the scene.
Officers alleged they seized two loaded handguns with over-capacity magazines, ammunition, more than 1,100 grams of suspected cocaine, over two grams of suspected MDMA, more than five grams of fentanyl, and more than $10,000 in cash, along with scales and cellphones. Meanwhile, another individual was arrested later when they returned to the residence, reported OPP.
As a result of the investigation, police said Ashley Forde, 48, Dajion Forde and Sophia Abrahams, both 47, all of Whitby, were charged with:
- Three counts of possession of a schedule 1 substance for the purpose of trafficking.
- Two counts of careless storage of a firearm.
- Two counts of possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose.
- Two counts of possession of a prohibited device or ammunition.
- Two counts of unauthorized possession of a prohibited or restricted firearm.
- Two counts of possession of a prohibited or restricted firearm with ammunition.
- Two counts of knowledge of unauthorized possession of a firearm.
- Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime over $5,000.
Police said Ashley Forde was also charged with an additional count of possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking.
None of these charges have been proven in court.
All three of the accused were held for a bail hearing in Belleville on Wednesday, reported OPP.
As part of the investigation, police also said 18-year-old Whitby resident Milan Forde was charged with:
- Two counts of possession of a schedule 1 substance for the purpose of trafficking.
- Two counts of unauthorized possession of a prohibited or restricted firearm.
- Two counts of possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose.
- Two counts of possession of a prohibited or restricted firearm with ammunition.
- Two counts of possession of a loaded prohibited or restricted firearm.
- Two counts of careless storage of a firearm.
- Two counts of possession of a prohibited device or ammunition.
- Two counts of knowledge of unauthorized possession of a firearm.
- Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime over $5,000.
None of these charges have been proven in court.
The accused was released from custody and will appear in Belleville court on July 24, 2025, reported OPP.
