YMCA Northumberland is inviting families, friends, and film lovers to Encore at the Midway, a two-night farewell celebration at the historic Midway Drive-In Theatre on September 5 and 6.
More than just a movie night, this event features live music, kids’ activities like Touch a Truck, food trucks, a halftime show, and blockbuster double-features chosen by more than 750 community votes. Friday night features The Jungle Book and Grease, while Saturday offers The Lion King and Pirates of the Caribbean.
Tickets are $125 per carload per night with room for up to eight people and includes general admission, free popcorn for everyone, and a charitable tax receipt. Proceeds support Back on Track, a YMCA program that helps youth ages 12-17 during school suspensions, offering personalized support and guidance to turn challenges into growth opportunities.
“With limited car spots and high demand, tickets are expected to go fast,” said YMCA Northumberland CEO Eunice Kirkpatrick. “We wanted this to be a true community experience, one that fills your car, your heart, and helps us make a real impact for youth at risk.”
Since launching in 2021, Back on Track has worked in partnership with two local school boards and eight area schools to support students in crisis.
Tickets are available now at ymcanrt.org/encore.
Special thanks to presenting sponsors Bin-it and Cut-it Ltd., Northumberland Rotary Clubs, the Cobourg Lions Club, and media partners 93.3 myFM and Classic Rock 107.9.
