Get ready for one of Cobourg’s most anticipated summer events! The Cobourg Sandcastle Festival returns Saturday, August 2, 2025, bringing together master sand sculptors, live entertainment, a global food court, an inflatable park, and the much-loved amateur sandcastle competition.
Families, businesses, and individuals are invited to compete for cash prizes in various sculpting categories.
Manager of Culture, Events & Tourism Jackie Chapman Davis says anyone can take part and maybe even take home a prize.
From 8:30 a.m., amateur builders can register on-site and get digging by 10 a.m., with judging in the afternoon. Meanwhile, master sculptors from across Canada and beyond will create jaw-dropping installations along Cobourg Beach.
Hungry after a morning of sculpting or spectating? Head over to the Taste of the World Food Court in Victoria Park, running from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., with 12 food trucks serving everything from savoury bites to sweet treats.
The celebration continues with an evening concert starting at 4:30 p.m., featuring Cobourg’s own Harry Hannah, followed by pop sensation Francesco Yates at 6:00 p.m.
Don’t forget to check out the Inflatable Park for kids, hop on a free shuttle from the Cobourg Community Centre or Northumberland Mall, and stick around Sunday night for Movies Under the Stars showing Night at the Museum in Victoria Park.
