An investigation is continuing into a crash involving a tractor-trailer and two passenger vehicles, which sent one person to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, says Northumberland OPP.
On Thursday, Sept. 11, 2025, at about 2 a.m., emergency crews – police, fire and paramedics – responded to a crash involving a tractor-trailer and two passenger vehicles on westbound Hwy. 401 near Port Hope, between Morrish Church Road and East Townline Road, said OPP.
In an update Thursday morning, police said one driver of one of the passenger vehicles was sent to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries following the collision.
Meanwhile, one of the vehicles was destroyed by fire – but all occupants had safely exited beforehand, reported OPP.
The crash resulted in a temporary closure from the County Road 28 area while firefighters extinguished the blaze. The roadway was partially reopened as cleanup crews cleared debris and then all lanes fully reopened at about 3:45 a.m., said police.
“The investigation remains ongoing, and updates will be provided when available,” said police Thursday.
No other details were released.
