Cobourg Police Service has made a second arrest in an ongoing weapons investigation that began earlier this month.
On September 6, 2025, members of the Criminal Investigation Bureau arrested an individual after receiving information about the presence of unregistered firearms at a Cobourg residence. As the investigation progressed, police gathered further information that led to a second arrest.
On September 11, 2025, a 65-year-old Cobourg woman was taken into custody. She has been charged with two counts of careless storage of a firearm, two counts of unauthorized possession of a firearm, two counts of knowledge of unauthorized possession of a firearm, and one count of breach of recognizance. Police say she has been held for a bail hearing.
The accused’s identity is being withheld to protect the identity of witnesses connected to the case.
