Cobourg Police Service has arrested and charged a 33-year-old local man after responding to a report of threats at a downtown business on September 12, 2025.
Police say officers were called after a staff member reported being verbally threatened by a man who was loitering in the business’s parking lot. According to police, the incident began when staff asked the man to leave the property.
Officers located the man a short time later. Following an investigation, the 33-year-old Cobourg man was arrested and charged with uttering death threats and three counts of failing to comply with probation.
Police say the man was held for a bail hearing.
Cobourg Police are reminding residents to report any incidents of threats or suspicious behaviour immediately to help ensure the safety of businesses and the public.
