Cobourg Police have arrested a 17-year-old from Baltimore in connection with a violent robbery that took place earlier this month in downtown Cobourg.
On October 19, around 1:30 a.m., officers on patrol near King Street West and Division Street were alerted to a person who had been assaulted and robbed of their belongings by three male youths. Police say the victim was treated at the scene, and officers later obtained surveillance footage that helped identify one of the suspects.
As a result of the investigation, police arrested a 17-year-old male on November 2. He is charged with assault with a weapon and robbery with violence and was held in custody pending a Show Cause Hearing.
The investigation is ongoing as police work to identify the two remaining suspects believed to be involved. Anyone with information is asked to contact Cobourg Police at 905-372-6821 or provide an anonymous tip through Crime Stoppers by calling 1-800-222-TIPS or visiting stopcrimehere.ca.
