Port Hope Police say a 23-year-old woman is facing multiple charges following a domestic disturbance that occurred over two days in late October and early November.
Officers responded to a 911 call on November 1 and arrested the woman after investigating reports of a domestic dispute that took place on October 31 and November 1. Police say the incidents involved threats and assault, both occurring in the presence of the couple’s young children.
The woman has been charged with assault and uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm. She was held in custody for a bail hearing.
Highland Shores Children’s Aid Society has been notified and has arranged care for the children involved. Police did not release the name of the accused to protect the identity of the victims.
The Port Hope Police Service is reminding residents that help is available for those experiencing domestic violence. Anyone in immediate danger should call 911, while ongoing support and resources are available through local victim services and crisis lines.
Police continue to stress that domestic violence remains a serious community concern and that early intervention can help prevent further harm to individuals and families.
