The Ontario Junior Hockey League’s inaugural Zach Hyman OJHL Prospects Series is shining a spotlight on some of the province’s brightest young hockey players – and Cobourg fans will get a front-row seat.
Four members of the Cobourg Cougars – Lincoln Edwards, Zachary Gardner, and Richard Wang – along with Cobourg’s Jack Foley of the Lindsay Muskies, have been named to East Division rosters in the high-profile showcase for 16- and 17-year-old players.
The Cobourg Community Centre will host two East Conference games as part of the series, on Monday, November 11 at 12:30 p.m. and again on Tuesday, December 2 at 7 p.m. The matchups will feature rising stars from across the OJHL, many already drafted to Ontario Hockey League teams or holding NCAA commitments.
The Prospects Series opened Tuesday night in Trenton, where Team Grey faced Team Red in the first of six round-robin games before the championship final in Brantford on January 6. Tickets for local games are $13, with children 12 and under admitted free.
Fans are encouraged to come out and cheer on their hometown players as the next generation of elite hockey talent takes the ice in Cobourg.
