Cobourg Council will hold a Special Meeting on Tuesday, January 20 at 5 p.m. to consider several items related to the town’s comprehensive zoning by law.
According to the Town of Cobourg, the meeting has been called under the municipality’s procedural by law and will include both open and closed session discussions. One closed session item will focus on litigation or potential litigation related to an Ontario Land Tribunal appeal involving the comprehensive zoning by law.
During the open portion of the meeting, council will review a staff report outlining proposed administrative and mapping corrections to the new comprehensive zoning by law. Council will also consider a by law amendment intended to correct identified zoning map issues.
Town officials say the proposed changes are aimed at improving accuracy and clarity within the zoning framework. No additional public delegations are scheduled as part of the Special Meeting agenda.
The meeting will be held using a hybrid format. Residents can attend in person or watch the meeting online through the Town of Cobourg livestream available on the municipal website.
Members of the public with questions or feedback related to the meeting can contact the town’s Legislative Services Division by email at clerk@cobourg.ca.
