A proposed residential and childcare development in Cobourg’s East Village area will be the subject of a public meeting later this month.
The Town of Cobourg has received a complete zoning by-law amendment application for 510 Drewery Road that would permit a three-storey multiple dwelling containing 20 residential units. The proposal also includes a separate one-storey building designed to provide private amenity space and accommodate a day nursery.
The application, filed by RFA Planning Consultants on behalf of EV Six Limited Partnership, requires council approval to amend existing zoning permissions under the Planning Act. A related site plan approval application has also been submitted for the property.
Municipal council will hold a public meeting on Wednesday, February 18 at 5 p.m. in the council chambers at Victoria Hall. Residents will have the opportunity to learn more about the proposal and provide comments before council considers whether to approve the zoning change.
Members of the public can attend the meeting in person or participate virtually through Zoom, with registration required in advance. Written submissions may also be provided to the town’s planning department and will be shared with council as part of the meeting materials.
Town staff say additional information, including mapping and application details, is available through the planning department at Victoria Hall during regular business hours. Residents interested in the proposal are encouraged to review the materials and take part in the public consultation process before any decisions are made.
